Pick 3 students that did excellent in class. Not fastest/strongest, but maybe best listener, slowest and most deliberate with movements. Each of the three students has an opportunity to shoot a free throw or layout (your choice)
Shooter one gets 3 shot attempts- This will determine how many rounds they will do
Shooter two gets 3 shot attempts- determines how many burpees they do
Shooter three gets 3 shot attempts- determines how many laps they run
Shooter 1 makes 2/3 baskets- 2 rounds of
Shooter 2 makes 1/3 basket- 1 burpee
Shooter 3 makes 3/3 basket- 3 laps
If they miss all three have them complete 4!
Switch it up if they start catching on and have them perform different movements
Have students balance an AbMat, paper plate, book or any other item on their flat open palm (Not holding on to it)
Everybody is "IT", and works to knock the item off of everyone else's hand (gently tapping, no hitting or swatting).
Anytime ANYONE drops their item or loses balance and has to catch it with their other hand to catch it, they are require to perform an exercise for designated reps.
Billy knocks sally's AbMat off her hand, so Sally does 4 burpees.
Billy loses his balance and drops his own AbMat, so Billy also does 4 burpees.
Change it up- Have the students switch hands! Walk backwards! Hop on one leg! Balance on their head! Crawl on hands and knees while balanced on their back! Crab walk with item balanced on their belly!
Set up objects to climb under, jump over, carry, a mat to roll on, a station to perform squat! Skies the limit. Suggest setting it up in a circle so students can continue the loop... Change it up, switch directions.
Line several different size/weight medicine balls up on either end of the gym. Split the class in half and on 3,2,1 Go, Students work to move all of the Medicine balls "Bombs" to the opponent's baseline. They cannot throw them. Balls must be carried and placed on line. They then run back empty handed and grab another "Bomb" to run back to opponents end. Allow them to continue until you yell "Freeze!!!
Clean out/Clean up
Students work together to carry each item in the gym one at a time to the center of the room. Heavier items, kids should team up to help carry it. Cannot throw anything into the pile, they must be set down one at a time. After they have cleaned everything out, they work together to clean up and put it all back.
Duck Duck Goose
With the children forming a big circle, select a student to be "it" to go around the circle of children tapping each on the head while saying "duck". They decide who they want to be "goose",. The 'goose' hops up and chases that person around the circle. IF the "it" person gets tagged by the goose before they run around the circle and sit in the gooses spot, they are 'it' again. They get to perform a movement (10 squats, or 5 push up or 2 burpees) before moving on to the next round. If the 'goose' does not tag the 'it' person, the goose becomes it and the game repeats. Kids in the circle waiting to be selected as goose should not sit on their booties, but instead have them hold a good squat position.
Set up a line of medicine balls or short objects like a cone, be sure there is one less object than there are children playing the games. Play the music and have the children move around the objects however you wants. They can hop on one leg, crab walk, bear crawl, plank rove etc... you decide. When the music stops, have the kids scramble to get into a perfect squat position over the object (without sitting down on the object) Whoever does not get to an object to squat over is out.
Kids that are out should not just sit and wait for the game to end. During the time music is playing have those kids hold perfect squats or planks or do jumping jacks. Make them move!
